Rimmel Match Perfection : Review

I have been trying out the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation for a month or two now and I think I'm settled on an opinion to share it with you lovely lot...

I really like the pump, it distributes the product easily and can be well managed and controlled depended on how much you need.

The formula itself is nice, it's smooth and applies to the skin with minimal effort and being in a well sealed bottle I feel it would last some time before drying out. I find it to be quite a low coverage foundation, I personally prefer a full coverage.

I have found that the product is quite oily, I have oily/combination skin and having recently got this under control I was disappointed to find my face becoming increasingly greasy after having this on all day.

When I picked this up I think I probably should have had the next shade down as I have found it is a tad too orangey for my skin tone but that's my fault not Rimmel's!

Have you tried the Rimmel Match Perfection? What did you think?

Hope you're having a lovely week... Mwahh

Happy Birthday Tia!

On the 30th August 2014 it was my beautiful little kitty's birthday, she turned 1!

Sometimes I wish she was still this tiny little bundle of fur, but then again I'm quite glad she's gone past her 'I'm going to climb up your leg' phase. As far as I can tell she's a small cat for her age as she is still really small!

I grew up around dogs, we never had a cat and I had never really interacted with a cat before in my life, I might go as far to say I was slightly afraid of them, they always seemed shifty and could go from sleeping quietly to scratching your eyes out in a matter of seconds. I was wrong, don't get me wrong I'm sure some cats are like this.

11 months after bringing little Tia in to our lives (much to Tom's dismay) she is a part of our family and I don't think either of us would be without her. She's such a little character and although very anti-cuddles she is never far from my feet especially when it's bed time.

Love you Pusstat!

How many of you have a fur family?

Hope you enjoyed... Mwahh!

How to : Galaxy Choc Chip Cookies

Hello lovley's, now I'm not much of a chef but I can make a few basic things - such as cookies! So for (i imagine very few) of you here is my quick run by on a super simple recipe for super quick cookies!

You will need;
300g Caster Sugar
200g Butter
1 Egg
325g Self Raising Flour
1-2 Bars of Galaxy Chocolate

Firstly you add your sugar and butter together and mix until creamy - if your butter is a bit hard just pop it in the microwave for a few seconds, just a few though else it will just be liquid!! This is my favourite bit, does anyone else think this combination is literally the tastiest thing ever?!

Then add your egg into the mixture - I was always told never to eat raw egg so after this point I never eat the cake batter, is anyone else like this? Loads of people I know eat it!

Add in the flour, a little bit at a time - the mixture does become quite hard to mix now if it's still quite runny you've gone wrong... but just add a bit more flour.

I simply broke up a bar of Galaxy Chocolate (my fave!) but you can use any chocolate you want - I'm thinking of trying those new Cadbury chocolates in this - mmm Daim Choc Chip Cookies ! I then cut each chunk into three, but if you want really chunky choc chips just chuck them in whole!

So the batter is now more like a dough, take a small handful, roll into a ball and pop onto a baking tray - I have covered my tray with baking paper just so they come off easier. The cookie balls can be any size you want, these are fairly small but make sure you leave plenty of space between them, this is why...

HUGE COOKIES!
As they cook the mixture melts down and leaves you with lovely, warm, gooey cookies!

If you want to make Double Choc Chip Cookies just add some Cocoa Powder into the flour.

Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial... Mwahh!

A Day Out

Although my sister, niece and nephew only live down the road from me I rarely find time to spend with them working 9-5, 5 days a week so I took a day out of my schedule to spend entirely with them.

My sister and I were planning a lovely trip to the beach but as the weather has taken a rather dramatic turn in the opposite direction we settled for something that was slightly less needy of sunshine.

Park Hall Farm - this place is awesome! At first I thought it was going to be a stereotypical outing for 'city kids' to get a tiny taste of country life and being a country bumkin and wannabe shepherdess myself I thought it might be a bit boring - how wrong I was.

Firstly they had this quirky little 'driving school' for the kids (note: they have to be 3 or over) and it was really quite comical to see my five year old niece behind the wheel and in full control of a vehicle, no matter how small!

On the other hand my poor little munch was totally devastated when he couldn't have a go and did shed a few not so silent tears.

There is so much to do at this place it is perfect to keep the children occupied for a whole day, there's a little petting place with loads of different types of rabbits and guinea pigs. They can learn get up close and personal with two rather huge Clydesdale's and two lovely little Shetlands. In amongst a fabulous play area is a little cafe for Mum & Dad, where you can sit with a cuppa and watch the little ones from a safe distance.

Personally my favourite moment had to be the pig racing. Lucy and I both thought this was going to be fairly standard, a few pigs taking their time to stroll to the finish line - again how wrong we were.

You get to pick a coloured sticker, which of course allocates to a pig with a sprayed colour on their backs. As soon as the gate opened we all shouted 'GO' and these pigs literally raced down the track even over the jumps - it was really quite funny and the pigs seemed to enjoy it too (and the children of course)

All the tears earlier from Riley weren't totally in vain as he did get a go on something I wish I could have fitted my big adult bum into.

There were about 5-6 of these little barrels that were pulled along by a little tractor - totally cute although I was slightly worried Riley might jump out half way round!

They had a lovely opportunity to hand milk a beautiful Jersey cow, Leia actually managed to get some milk in the bucket and I don't think Riley entirely understood what he was doing - still super cute!

This place is a bargain for the amount you can do, perfect for the summer holidays - Park Hall Farm is located at Oswestry, and I cannot recommend it more, if I wrote about all the things you could do this blog post would be ten pages long!

Hope you enjoyed - what have you been up to these holidays?

OOTD #2

Here is my little bargain from my haul last week..

I must say I absolutely love this dress, it's so bold, bright & summery. It's light and floaty - although it's an awkward shape and difficult to disguise your bra underneath it, I'm sure you ladies know what I mean.
I paired it with a thin tan belt just to sinch in my waist and it was a little chilly out so I chucked on my cropped denim jacket (this also help with the undergarment issues) - this was also from H&M.

What's your perfect dress this summer?

Avon 3-in-1 Cleanser

Sometimes I feel a bad review is just as good as a good one..

..here's a bad one.

This here is the Avon 3-in-1 Cleanser, Toner & Moisturiser.
I can't remember how much I paid for this but I bought it and left it on the shelf for a while before trying it, but after deciding I needed to seriously re-evaluate my skincare products and routine I reached for this.

Containing two natural ingredients; aloe and ginger I thought it sounded quite nice, I must mention it doesn't smell like aloe or ginger, infact it smells like something quite similar to a toilet freshener.
I suppose I can't complain too much as the packaging doesn't actually claim to do anything nourishing to your skin as you would expect on a skincare product!

I used this product every morning and every night for about two weeks before I could tolerate it no longer - my skin is now 10 times worse than it was before I subjected it to this product. I broke out in acne big style and I do naturally have oily skin but nothing compared to this, my face was a grease pit - it was horrible!

Luckily I have seen the error in my ways and since stopped using this product and it will be finding itself in the rubbish pretty soon!

Sorry for posting such a negative review but I feel an honest opinion is what we all need!

What's the worst skincare product you have tried?

Weekend Buys

I had an accidental splurge at the weekend, I try and try to save but shopping always happens...

.. luckily it's just a small one!

Dress - H&M
Topsy Tails - H&M
Lint Roller - H&M
Sanctuary Spa Massage & Body Oil - Boots
Garnier Micellar Water - Boots

I love this dress, it's really bright - not my usual pick! It's floaty, light & bold, perfect for this summer. This was in the sale and I think it was about £5.00 - bargain!!

When I saw these Topsy Tails I just new I had to have them, they were a huge part in my childhood as my mum used them on me an my sisters pretty much everyday for school. I am so excited to see what new hairstyles I can create using these - tutorial post maybe?

Having a cat and one extremely fluffy dog I have been meaning to pick a lint roller up for ages but unfortunately the only time you remember is when your about to go out somewhere and you are covered in hair and fluff! These are about a pound from H&M so totally inexpensive and they come in loads of jazzy colours and patterns!!

Okay so I have caved and jumped on the clique bandwagon. Say hello to the millionth time the Garnier Micellar Water, my skin at the moment is horrendous and so I decided I needed a half decent cleanser or something and this product has been raved about so much and at £3.99 I couldn't argue.
Since my skin is so bad at the moment I am going to trial this product for a whole month taking photos as I go and give a good review at the end!

Just lately I have been having the worst backache ever and have been in desperate need of a good massage. Whilst in Boots I grabbed the Sanctuary Spa Massage and Body Oil and pretty much ran home to try it out (with the help of Tom of course). This stuff is amazing, it smells amazing, it feels amazing - all round amazing! Review to come!!

There have been a few slaps on the backs of my hands this weekend - I really had to curb the spending bug!!

Hope you enjoyed... Mwahh!

Daily Make-up Routine

I love reading about and watching other bloggers & Youtuber's everyday make-up routines, and so just to chuck another one in the rounds I thought I would share my standard everyday make-up with all of you - I hope you enjoy!

Excuse my mucky make-up

Foundation - Rimmel Match Perfection SPF18 in True Ivory 103
Concealer - Rimmel Hide the Blemish in Sand 002
Pressed Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent
Mascara - Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara in Blacked Brown
Eyeshadow - MUA Palette in Undressed - Shade 2
Blush - Sleek Blush in Suede

First I make sure I moisturise, during the summer I get really dry skin across my forehead and around my nose. Simple moisturiser has always been on my dressing table and leaves my face feeling soft and nourished without being over oily.

These are the brushed I use to do my make-up...

Foundation/Concealer - Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
Pressed Powder - Elf Kabuki Brush
Blush - Real Techniques Blush Brush
Eyes - Elf Stubby Eye Brush

So, I use my Hide the Blemish concealed around my nose and under my eyes as well as on any spots or red patches. I then about 3/4 of a pump of Rimmel Match Perfection on the back of my hand and use my Expert Face Brush to blend the foundation evenly.
With my Elf Kabuki Brush I set my foundation by dabbing the pressed powder over my face, I love a matte finish when it comes to make-up.

Next I get my Sleek Blush and my Real Techniques Blush Brush and with a quick sweep I add a little bit of colour back to the apples of my cheeks. I love this colour of blush, it's subtle but it just adds enough pigment.

I'm not an overly adventurous person when it comes to daily make up so I also go straight for the slightly sparkly pink shade (shade 2 in the palette) it just adds enough to make my eyes not seem so dead, and like I tried to make a bit of an effort.
I then use the Revlon 3D Volume Mascara to thicken and lengthen my top lashes, I use about 2-3 coats but I only use a light amount on my bottom lashes, just enough to make them noticeable.

And this is the finished look, not OTT but just enough to make it look liked an effort was made :)

Summer on the Farm

Here's a little insight into our summer evening having a stroll round our friends farm..

It is mine and Tom's dream to own a farm like this one day, but who knows what the future holds.. maybe Bella will be our very own sheep dog - maybe not! :)

OOTN #1

My parents took me out for a bit of tea Saturday night, I love spending time with them since I no longer live at home and my mum always loves it when I make a bit of effort rather than going out in my jeans and muddy wellies!

I took a few pictures to do a quick OOTN although it's not majorly glamourous I thought it was enough effort to document.

I kept my hair down a natural, just gave a quick zhuzh flicked it to one side and voila - hair, done!!

I went for a bronzed look considering it has been so sunny and I am just still so pale! All I did was carry out my everyday make-up but substituted my Sleek Blush for the Boots Natural Collection Bronzing Pearls.

On my eyes I have the MUA Undressed Palette using Shade 5 all over the lid and Shade 7 blended into the corner and the crease, I also slightly lined my lower eyelid.

My Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara did just the trick to lengthen & thicken my lashes.

I wore this black skater dress from Primark, I think this is one of their £5.00 value dresses, it's so light and soft, perfect for this weather as it's not clingy. I just paired this simply with a tan waist belt, also from Primark I think.

And finally I housed my feet in this very comfy sandals from Topshop, they are super soft.. although I always find sandals hard to fit into as my toes are quite short! I love the Rose Gold buckle detail on these and I always get comments on them!

I hope you enjoyed my post, leave your comments below! :)

New Glasses!

I have had the same old glasses for about two years now and to be honest I don't think they are benefiting my sight anymore (blind as a bat) so I got my new prescription and decided to take the plunge..

My tired, old & worn glasses
I could not believe how expensive glasses are nowadays, this would be my first time actually having to buy a pair and I refused to buy a crappy standard pair at the cost of an arm and a leg. I was pretty deflated about this until a colleague told me to check out some online sites.

Glasses Direct is an amazing site and they also allow you to trial up to four pairs of glasses for a week, this was great as I hadn't even tried any on in the opticians and had no idea what I wanted!

I had a few trials before I decided on the pair I liked but I was ultimately gutted when I saw these were still out of my price range!

I kept on searching around the web when I found the pair!! Finally!!

They are completely inexpensive at £15.00 and I was pretty chuffed when I saw they also were on 50% off!! So I got my new face goggles for a grand total of £7.50 + Carriage.. amazing!

The site I found them on is Direct Sight and they have this offer on until Tuesday, so I'd get on over there now!!

I was a bit nervous about buying my glasses online because of the perscription and my optician always seems to do a lot of measuring to get them to fit perfectly, but you just simply put in all the information you get on your card from the eye doctor!

New Glasses
I was so impressed with the website, normally glasses can take up to 2 weeks to be made specifically for you, and when I placed my order it said between 7-10 working days!! 4 days later and these little beauties were dropped through my letter box!

I love them, they feel of such a good quality for the price and are right on trend. I ummed and ahhed about getting just the plain black ones but I thought, no! I will step out of my comfort zone and get something a bit jazzy. I love the pink on them it's so subtly and yet adds so much!

I think they look great on my face even if they are larger than my other glasses. It's so nice to have something fresh and new.

.. and I think Bella likes them too!!

What do you think, leave your comments below!
